Character Creation Challenge 2023: #6= “Cartoon Action Hour -- Season #1”

Well, the next three games for this business are going to repeat as well as it will cover all three seasons (read: all three editions) of “Cartoon Action Hour”.

Before I began -- I need to know the genre of the fictional Game Master’s fictional action cartoon series from the 1980s -- and I’m going to skip Espionage as that was the genre that I did for the last game. Question #1: “Cops?” My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 95. Outrageous No. Question #2: “Crooks”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 87. No. Question #3: “Detective”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 51. No. Question #4: “Fantasy”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 40. Yes. Work for me.

So I need a tagline for my PC for this one, I’m going with the following: “Hotheaded Female Lizardian Warrior”

Next, I need a name for my PC. Question #1: Does my female warrior name start with A? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 72. No. Question #2: C? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 100. Outrageous No. I’m going with Diana for the name.

For Personality, I’m going with the following: “Diana is usually quiet watching things until someone does rotten -- and then she goes on the attack.”

For Background, I’m going with the following: “Diana was exiled from her Lizardian tribe by her tribe’s elder for killing a few of her fellow Lizardian for robbery.”

For Appearance, I’m going with the following: “Diana is a tall female Lizardian with green skin, pink hair, and yellow eyes usually dressed in a red toga with a hole for her tail and sandals.”

For Story Hooks, I’m going with the following business: “Vow: Stop all injustice -- Major”, “Fear: Afaird of bats - Minor.”, & “Stigma: Lizardian - Moderate.”

Now, it’s time to get my character some character points to buy stuff. Question #5: The usual 100 Character Points? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 37. Yes...

...Now, it’s time to buy traits for my PCs. The following is what I brought for my PCs with the math business in brackets as usual:

  • Armed Combat 2 [100 - 4 = 92]

  • Athletics 1 [92 - 2 = 90]

  • Body 3 [90 - 6 = 84]

  • Coordination 2 [84 - 4 = 80]

  • Ranged Combat 2 [80 - 4 = 76]

  • Unarmed Combat 2 [76 - 4 = 72]

  • Knowledge (Lizardians) 4 [72 - 8 = 64]

  • Willpower 4 [64 - 8 = 56]

  • Appearance -2 [56 + 2 = 58]

  • Persuasion 2 [58 - 4 = 54]

I give the Specialty of Threats to Diana’s Persuasion -- I think I just do it at 1.

Now, it’s time for size. Even if she is tall for a Lizardian, Diana’s size is still medium.

I give Diana two Oomphs to start with. 54 - 5 = 50.

I give two Stunt Points as well. 50 - 6 - 42.

Now to deal with the Hit Point table on Page 15 of the Season 1 version of the rulebook for “Cartoon Action Hour.”. A character like Diana that has a Body of 3 gets a total of 38 Hurt Points -- if that character has 0 in Willpower but Diana has 4. 38 + 4 = 42. 42 is the total amount of Diana’s hurt points once her Willpower has been accounted for.

Now it’s time for special abilities. The first is the following: Lizardian Skin. This is going to High one. 42 - 6 = 36. This one is Defense Special Ability or DSA for short.  I’m going with 7 so I can say some character points for a weapon. 36 - 10 = 26.

Next, it’s next time is time for a weapon. I’m going with the following: Lizard Axe. This would be Offensive Special Ability or OSA for short. This one is a Low one. 26 - 2 = 24. I’m going with 7 again for the Damage Rating. 24 - 10 = 14. The axe is an item --  so it gets Restriction: Item. 14 + 2 = 16.

Below this paragraph is the full stats of Diana -- as she is now ready for showtime on her fictional action cartoon from the 1980s.

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #5 = “Big Eyes, Small Mouth -- 4th Edition”

We still are in what I call the fictional town of “Repeatville” as our next game is called “Big Eye, Small Eyes” -- using its 4th Edition. I’m going to ask Mythic about the genre -- skipping superheroes style hero -- including Japanese-styled heroes such as magic girls and super sentai teams -- since that was the theme of the last game I make for this business...

...So it’s time to find the genre of the fictional game campaign. Question #1: Cyberpunk? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 86. No. Question #2: Detective? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 82. No.

Question #3: Espionage? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 14. Yes. Work for me.

It’s time to decide on the Power Level. Question #4: Adventurer Level? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 100. Outrageous No. We are at the Mythical Level and I have 140 Character Points for my character.

I don’t think I need size templates or species templates-- as I think my character is a normal human -- or at least a normal human that could appear in any anime from “Astroboy” to “One Piece” to “Sailor Moon” -- and every anime in between and beyond.  And they are no “Spy” in the career table.

Now, it’s time to deal with the three stats: Body, Mind, and Soul. I think I’m going to put 10 in all three. 140 - 20 (for the 10 in Body) = 120 -  20 (for the 10 in Mind) = 100 - 20 (for the 10 in Soul) = 80.

Now, it’s time to buy the Attributes for the characters -- the following is what I brought for my PC with the math business in brackets as usual:

  • Armour 3 (3 * 2 = 6. 80 - 6 = 72)

  • Attack Mastery 6 (1 * 6 = 6. 72 - 6 = 66.

  • Combat Technique 6 (1 * 6 = 6. 66 - 6 = 60.)

    • Blind Fighting, Blind Shooting, Concealment, Lighting Reflexes, Lethal Blow, & Brutal

  • Defense Mastery 6 (1 * 6 = 6. 60 - 6 = 54)

  • Action Skill Group 3

    • Detective (3* 3 = 9. 54 - 9 = 45)

Now it’s time for the Defects for my character - as usual, the math will be in the brackets.

  • Blind Furry 1 (45 + 2 = 47)

  • Easily Distracted (Soda Pop) 3 (47 + 3 = 50)

  • Hounded 1 (50 + 2 = 52)

  • Nemesis 1 (52 + 1 = 53)

Now, it’s time that we deal with the business of Derived Values. That is the total of all three stats divided by 3. 10 + 10 + 10 = 30/3 = 10. Now I had to add the levels I took in Attack Mastery to the business. . Our next business is to deal with the Health Point -- which is the following math problem: (Body + Soul)x5. Let’s plug our PC numbers into the math problem.  10 + 10 * 5 = 100. So 100 is my character’s Health Points. Now it’s time for Energy Points -- which is similar to the Health Point -- to switch out the Body stats for the Mind stats. Since I still have 10 in both stats in the math problem -- my character’s Energy Points total is 100. My PC’s Damage Multiplier is 5.

Now, I’m going to need a name for my character: Kossori Tenshi. “Kossori” is the Japanese word for “sneak” while Tenshi is the Japanese word for “angel” - so if put Tenshi’s name in the American order of given names before family names instead of the Japanese order of family names before given names-- it would be the Japanese equal of “angel sneak.”

Next is the appearance of Tenshi which is the following: “Kossori Tenshi is a female human adult of full Japanese decent with black hair and black eye usually wearing either a full black catsuit that covers all but her head or a white toga and sandals.”

Below this paragraph, the full stats of Tenshi awaits you.

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #4 = “BIFF! BAM! KAPOW!”

Our next game is also a repeat from last year, “Biff! Bam! Kapow!”.

Our first step is to give a name for our character, I’m going with Miss Fairy.

Our next step is to do the appearance for Miss Fairy -- which is the following: “As Miss Fairy, she is a tall teenager-looking humanoid with pink hair, blue eyes, a purple wedding gown with fake silver butterfly-like wings, blue jeans dyed pink, a pair of long pink knee-length socks, and pair of purple loafers. As Francis Folk, she is a small teenager with brown hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a brown turtleneck sweater, regular blue jeans, a pair of white socks, and pair of brown cowboy-style boots.”

The third step is to figure out the business with the Attributes of Miss Fairy-- which are the following four: Action, Thought, Drama, & Pluck.  I have 4 points -- so I going to put 1 in each business.

Next is to deal with skills. I’m going with the following: Disguise, Acting, Driving, and Fairy Whip. The first three are skills -- while the last one is an Item. Next, I going to add two flaws: Hothead & Teenager.

I get 2 points for Enhancements plus 1 point for any flaws. Since I have two flaws I got 4 points. I will start with “Low-Budget” for Fairy Whip. I think I am out of ideas for Enhancements, so I’m done here.

Below this paragraph,

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #3 = “Awfully Cheerful Engine”

Our next game is also a repeat from last year. That game is “Awfully Cheerful Engine”.

I going to ask Mythic which core identity a.k.a the role for PC is.   Question #1: Ape? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 88. No. Question #2: Cat? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 91. Outrageous No. So it’s not one of the talking animals in the core rulebook. Question #3: Alien? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 98. Outrageous No. So it’s not one of the species in the core rulebook. Question #4: Alchemist? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 78. No. Question #4: Assassin? My View: I’m skipping this one since that was what I got last year. Question #5: Actor? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 80. No. Question #6: Archaeologist (think “Indiana Jones”)? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 51. No. Question #7: Astronaut? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 70. No. Question #8: Athlete? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 73. No. Question #9: Bounty Hunter? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 75. No. Question #10: Boxer (think “Rocky”)? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 46. Yes. The following is the Boxer’s Special Ability: “With a quick One-Two, and swift K.O., you really know how to

punch. Your unarmed damage increases by 1. And also, once per day, when

you would normally be Knocked Out, you can choose to remain on 1 Health.”

Next is to deal with the stats. You have 12 points to put in the stats put in the four stats: Smarts, Moves, Brawn & Style. You can’t put any more than 5 in one trait and no traits can be less than 2. I will start with a 2 in Smarts. Then I put a 3 for Move. Then I put a 5 in Brawn. That leaves 2 points left over for Style.

Now it’s time to pick my Focus. For my PC’s Smart focus, I’m going with Video Games. For my PC’s Move focus, I’m going with Dodging. For Brawn, I’m going with Brawling. For my PC’s Style focus, I going with Sports.

Ok. It’s time to do the Defense business which is the following math problem: Moves & 3. Though it is lower than 8 -- it becomes the number known as the following: 8. 3 * 3 = 9. 9 is higher than 9.

Health is equal to Brawn plus 2 if the PC had a Tough focus. So my PC’s health is 5

Next is to pick the main trait of my character. I’m going with Heroic.

Now, it’s time for a name, I’m going with Hellen Troy for the name of this PC.

Now it’s time for appearance -- which I went with the following: “Hellen Troy is an adult human female with blonde hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a pink mini-shirt, mini-jeans shorts, and pair of sandals.”

Below the break is the full stats of Hellen Troy.

=A.C.E=

Name: Hellen Troy

Trait/Role: Heroic Boxer

Stats:

▢ Smarts: 2 (Video Games)

▢ Moves: 3 (Dodging)

▢ Brawn: 5 (Brawling)

▢ Style: 2 (Sports)

Defense: 9

Health: 5

Special Ability: With a quick One-Two, and swift K.O., you really know how to

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #2 = “Amazing Tales”

Our next game is a repeat as well -- “Amazing Tales”. Since I did sci-fiction here, I’m going with fantasy like the following media: “Dungeons & Dragons”, “Pathfinder”, “King Arthur and the Knights of Round Table”, “Robin Hood And His Merry Man”, “The Lord of The Rings” & “Games of Thrones”

I was thinking of a mermaid here. Though originally, it was a creature that had the top of a fish and the bottom of a woman - the historical version of the old classic room game called “Telephone” -- had changed into the following: the top of a woman with the bottom of a fish.

The first business is the name of the character. I’m going with Annabelle here.

Next business is Annabelle’s appearance which is the following: “Annabelle is a mermaid with purple hair, yellow eyes, and a green tail usually dressed in a pink toga.”

Now it’s time to decide on Annabelle’s four skills. The following skills are pretty good for a mermaid: swimming, singing, using magic, ocean knowledge, sailing ships, rescuing lifeforms & animal care. I think I use the first four for Annabelle’s skills. I think swimming is the one that gets the d12. The one that gets the d10 is Using Magic. I going to give singing the d8. That puts d6 into the Ocean Knowledge.

Below the break is the full stats for Annabelle.

=AMAZING=

Name: Annabelle

Appearance: Annabelle is a mermaid with purple hair, yellow eyes, and a green tail usually dressed in a pink toga.

Skills:

▢ Swimming: d12

▢ Using Magic: d10

▢ Singing: d8

▢ Ocean Knowledge: d6

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #1 = "Action System"

We are starting this business this year with a repeat. In this case, it’s “Action System!”. The fictional campaign that our fictional game master is running is an extremely far-future business filled with aliens and robots of many different flavors. This means I have 50 Starting Points for Attributes.  The following is what I bought for my character with the math business in brackets as usual:

  • 10 for Strength [50 - 10 = 40.]

  • 9 for Reflexes [40 - 9 = 31.]

  • 10 for Health [31 - 10 = 21.]

  • 6 for Presence [21 - 6 = 15.]

  • 10 for Intellect [15 - 10 = 5.]

  • 5 for Will  [5 - 5 = 0.]

Now, it’s time to deal with the Derived Attributes business for the PC. The first math business here is for Defensive Target Number which is the following math problem: Reflexes + 10. With my PC having a Reflexes of 9 -- that makes his Defensive Target Number the following: 19. The next math business in this business is for Initiative which is the following math problem: Reflexes + Intellect/2 = Initiative (rounding up in the case of fractions) Let’s plug my PC’s numbers into the math problem: 10+10/2=10.  The next business is Toughness which is the following math problem: Strength + Will/2 = Toughness (once again -- rounding up in case of fractions). Let’s plug in the PC’s numbers: 10 + 5 = 15/2=7.5. Rounding that 7.5 up to an 8.  Next is the math business for Life which is the following: (Health x 3)+ (Will x2) = Life. Time to plug in the PC’s numbers. (10x3)+(5*2) = Life. 30+10=40. The Move is our next math problem -- which is the following: Reflexes + (Strength+Health)/2. It’s time to figure out the PC’s Move business. 9 + (10+10)/2 = 14.5. Let’s round up that 14.5 into a 15.

It’s time to buy the Traits for our character -- advantages cost us points -- while the disadvantages give us points. The fictional Game Master decides to give us 200 points to buy traits -- the following is what I brought with the math business in brackets as usual:

  • Actual Scene (Gift) -- [200 - 9 = 191]

  • Advanced (Gift) -- [191 - 10 = 181]

  • Ambidextrous (Edge) -- [191 - 5 = 186]

  • Athletic (Gift) -- [186 - 10 = 176]

  • Attractive (Edge) -- [176 - 6 = 170]

  • Lucky (Edge) -- [170 - 10 = 160]

  • Night Vision (Gift)  -- [160 - 10 = 150]

  • Addiction: Soda Pop (Inconvenience) -- [150 + 2 =152]

  • Bad Temper (Inconvenience) -- [152 + 2 = 154]

  • Distinctive Feature: Pink metal skin (Peril) -- [152 + 10 = 163]

Ok. On my PC’s skills. I get 100 points for my PCs.  Group business is 5 Points per Level -- while a skill is 1 point per level -- even if it’s a type of business -- while a Specialty is 2 Levels per 1 point.

The following are the skills that I brought for my PC with the math business in brackets as usual:

  • Swimming 6 (100  - 6 = 94.)

  • Disguise 10 (94 - 10 - 81)

  • Stealth 10 (81 - 10 = 71)

  • Intuition 10 (71 - 10 = 61)

  • Acting 10 (61 - 10  = 51)

  • Singing 10 (51 - 10 = 41)

Now, I’m done with my character’s buying business -- so it’s time for name and appearance. I’m going with Aelita as the name of the character. Aelita’s appearance is the following business: “Aelita is a human-looking robot made out of pink metal with purple hair and orange eyes usually wearing a white toga.”

The following business is Aelita’s full stats.
