 The first business is to come up with a background for my character -- and I'm going with the following: "Jyna is an alien warrior from another planet who accidentally ends up on Earth -- and is still on the path of fighting against the forces of evil and injustice on Earth until she can find her home planet.”

I have 25 words for Casting -- and I'm going with the following: "A female adult who is either a wrestler or a bodybuilder." 11 words -- nice job, Dr. Fowl Thinker. 😁😁😁😁

Now it's time to pick up the Option for the numbers for the three Traits (Adventure, Thought, & Drama) for my character -- no questions asked.

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #14 = “RetroStar”

Today's game is "RetroStar" -- which I had done for the two Character Creation Business in both 2021 and 2022.

In January 2021, I did a mermaid superhero. In January 2022, I did a space opera character. In this case, I’m going with fantasy here. The name of the character and the series is the same, Princess Aelita.

Next, before I forget it -- I put my name, Dr. Fowl Thinker, as Player.

Next is Background-- which I  am going with the following: “Princess Aelita is Xena decades about two decades before Xena’s first appearance in 1990’s ‘Hercules” series -- thought Aelita has been a good witch since she turned 13.”

Next is Casting -- which I am going with the following: “Just find a normal teenage girl from the 1970s”

Next are the Traits -- Adventure, Thought, and Drama. I’m going with Option C. That means that I get two Zeros and one 1. Since she is a Princess, I think she’s more used to Drama -- so that is the one I’m going to drop in. Since she has a 1 in Drama, she gets a Descriptor here. going with the following: Chessmistress”.

Character Creation Challenge 2022: #25 = “Retro Star”

 Our next game is Spectrum Games “RetroStar” -- which deals with 1970’s Science-Fiction.  Last year, my character, Merina, for this tabletop roleplaying game came from a superhero business. This time, my character is for a space opera business like “Star Wars” or “Star Trek”.

Step #1 is the PC’s Name. I’m going with Araka for the name of this PC.

Step #2 is the PC’s Background. I’m going with the following: “Araka is a Blobbian that was rescued from the Lionians by Capt. Thomas J. Zork of S.E.A. KING, the flagship of the Space Exploring Agency.”

Step #3 is Casting. This is the appearance of the actor behind the character. I only have 25 words to fill this step out. I’m going with the following: “A teenage girl somewhere between the ages of 13 and 16.” 

Step #3 is Traits. There are three traits here: Adventure (combat business), Thought (brain business) & Drama (social butterfly business). I've decided on going Option C here -- giving me the following number: 1, 0 & 0. I think I’m going with Drama for her 1.

Step #4 is getting a Descriptor for that Drama business. I’m going with an “Awesome Alien Appearance” for Araka's Drama Descriptor. 

Step #5 is to get the Dials. The following are the dials for the PCs. The dials are Thematic (themes to the issues and problems of the 1970s like Watergate and the Vietnam War), Plot (how loose is the plot of the series), Recurring (This is how times things repeat in the series), Cheese (fabs of the 1980s like disco, kung fu and rollerblading) & SFX (this is special effects like psychic powers and the ability to shapeshift.) For PCs, this is all filled in while playing the game.....

Character Creation Business #26: RetroStar

 Spectrum Games’ “RetroStar” is all about live-action science fiction shows of the 1970’s. For this one, I’m going to do a superhero show like “Wonder Woman”.

Step #1 is Background. The Background for my PC is the following: “A mermaid who loves the human race and thinks the crime and war are keeping the humans from taking care of the environment -- so she decided to come up to fight crime and war to make sure the human race can clean up the environment.”

Step #2 is Casting. This is the actor or in my PC case, the actress that plays the character in I’m making up. I have a limit of 25 words for this one. For Casting, I’m going with the following: “A nice woman with blonde hair and blue that is a great swimmer with her legs stuff in a rubber mermaid tail.”

Step #3 is Traits. The traits are the following: Adventure (fighting skills), Thought (brain skills), and Drama (will skills). I’m going with Option 3 here: 1,0 & 0. I’m going with Adventure being our mermaid’s best skill. 

Step #4 is Description. The only one that gets on is Adventure -- and I’m going with the following: “Tail-Fu.” (Dr. Thinker ducks a flying fried fish that a person who hates puns threw at him.)

Step #5 are themes. They are four themes: Thematic (I.E Stuff that had a relationship to the 1970s like President Nixon’s Watergate business), Plot (stuff related to the plot of the series), Recurring (stuff that might repeat in a series), Cheese (anything hockey like disco, roller-skatings, hippies, etc.) & SFX (Special Effects: laser guns, a wizard’s magic spell, spaceships, supercomputers, etc.) A new character like the one I’m creating is empty and if I was playing in series, will get filled in as the series goes on.

Step #6 is the Character’s Name. I’m going with “Marina” for the name of the character.

Step #7 is the Player’s Name. That would be my own name:  Dr. Fowl Thinker. 😉
