I'm going with opinion C -- and since I've been reading old Supergirl stories from the Pre-Crisis era -- I'm going to make a female fighter. I'm going to give her the name of Araka -- which is Supergirl's first name backward with an extra A.

For appearance, I'm going with the following: "Araka is a tall Amazon warrior with long blonde and blue eyes, usually wearing full Grecian armor that covers her from head to toe."

Character Creation Challenge 2023: #15 = “On The Air”

 

Ok. For our next game in this business, I’m going with “On The Air”.

This time, I’m going with a series set in the time of the America’s War of Independence from England. 

The first is the name, I’m going with Hellen Smith

For the Profile, I’m going with the following: “Hellen Smith is an adult woman with blonde hair and blue eye usually wearing either an American Colonial-era blacksmith outfit with black boots or an American Colonial-era dress with white boots. Her personality wants to give the Redcoats a very hard time. Her dream is to marry Carol Crane, Ichabod’s older brother.”

Now for traits, I’m going with Option B -- which gives me the two 1s and one -1. I think put that -1 in Thought -- leaving the other 1s for Adventure and Drama. For that -1, I’m going to put a flaw -- “Hothead” in Thought as she has -1 in Drama. 

I don’t think my character needs any edge -- so I think I finished with Hellen Smith. Below this paragraph is the full stats of Hellen Smith.

Character Creation Challenge #20 = "On The Air"

Our next tabletop game for this 2022’s Character Creation Challenge business is “On The Air”, Spectrum’s homage to the radio shows of the 1920’s through the 1940’s. 

Step #1 is to find the genre for the fictional radio series that the fictional Showrunner is doing.

Question #1: Is the genre of the fictional Showrunner’s fictional radio series the following? “Fantasy”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 4. Exceptional Yes. The story is “The Warriors of Eris” -- about a group of Greecian warriors fighting injustice in Mycenaean Greece. 

Step #2 is dealing with Traits. The three traits are the following: Adventure (I.E. combat), Thought (I.E. solving puzzles), & Drama (I.E. Showing off against a rival).

Step #3 is deciding to go with one of the three options for the three traits and putting that Option’s numbers into the PC’s Traits.

Question #2: Is a series a soap opera? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 64. No.  It’s a regular action series. 

 

Question #3: Should I go with the following: “Option A =  -1,0,2”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 82. No.

Question #4: Going with the following: “Option B: -1, 1, 1”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 91. Exceptional No. It’s Option C which gives me the following numbers: 0,0 & 1.

Step #4 is getting a Description for any trait that has a positive number above 0 or a Flaw for any trait that has a negative number below 0. Since the only Trait that has a number that isn’t 0 is Adventure, I get 1 Description As for the Description, I’m going with Graceful.

Step #5 is Choice an Edge, I’m going with Trait Enhancer -- and up Thought by 1.

Step #6 is Name. I’m going with Araka as the name of my character.

Character Creation Business #21: "On The Air!"

 “On The Air” is Spectrum Games’s homage to the old radio shows of the 1920’s. 

Step #1 is to find a genre: Time to bring out Mythic for a genre. Question #1 is Fantasy? My View: 50/50. Mythic: 70. No. Question #2: Horror? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 36. Yes. Horror is the genre of the series. This sounds like an adult show. So I’m going with “The Ghost Hunter” as the name of the series.

Step #2 is to decide the Traits. They are three traits in “On The Air”: Adventure (I.E: fighting, climbing, swimming, etc.); Thought (I.E: fixing a car, disarming a bomb, remembering a little-known fact, etc.), and Drama (I.E.: tricking people, dealing with a merchant, etc.).  Question #3 does our PC have 1 good thing about him or her? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 1. Exceptional Yes. I’m going with Option C: 0,0, & 1. I’m going to be using Drama. And I’m going with Charming as Descriptor for Drama since that’s step #3 for my PC.

Step #4 is to pick a Forte for the PC, but since this is a horror series, I think I let that.

Step #5 is to figure out the gender of the PC. Question #1: Is our PC a male? My View: Very Likely. Mythic View: 8. Exceptional Yes.
