Character Creation Challenge 2022: #28 = “Biff! Bam! Kapow!”

For this one, I’m going with another recent roleplaying game I got  -- this time, it comes from Spectrum Games. The tabletop game in question is called “Biff! Bam! Kapow!”. “Biff! Bam! Kapow!” is a kiss-up to the live-action “Batman” television show starring Adam West as Bruce “Batman” Wayne.

Step #1 is Attributes. There are four Attributes in this game: Action (a.k.a muscle business), Thought (a.k.a brain business), Drama (a.k.a social business), and Pluck (a.k.a heart business).

Step #2 is buying the Rating for the Attributes. I have 4 points to buy them -- but Rating of 1 costs 1 point while Rating of 2 costs 2 Points. I think I just put 1 in each Attribute.

Step #3 is Skills and Items. I have to come with four Skills and/or Items for my PC. I’m going with the following for them: THICK SKIN (Skill), VERY STRONG (Skill), CROSSBOW (Item) & ACROBATICS (Skills).

Step #4 is to add Flaws. I think I’m going with one Flaw for my PC - “Teenager”

Step #5 is to get Enhancements. I get two points plus one point for Flaws I give my PC -- so I have 3 for my character. I’m going to start with “Low-Budget” for the CROSSBOW item. 3-1=2. Now, I’m going with Mastery  for the ACROBATICS skill. 2-1=1.

Step #6 is the name for my PC. I’m going with the following: “Miss Fairy”

Step #7 is appearance. I’m going with the following: “Miss Fairy is a teenage girl with pink hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a long pink gown with fake silver butterfly-wings and a pair of long pink boots. Francis Royal is a teenage girl with blonde hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a white sweater, blue jeans, a pair of white socks and a pair of blue sneakers.”

...And Miss Fairy is done. Below this paragraph is the full stats of Miss Fairy herself.

=BBK=

Name: Miss Fairy

Appearance: Miss Fairy is a teenage girl with pink hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a long pink gown with fake silver butterfly-wings and a pair of long pink boots. Francis Royal is a teenage girl with blonde hair and blue eyes usually dressed in a white sweater, blue jeans, a pair of white socks and a pair of blue sneakers.

Attributes:

▢Action: 1

▢Drama: 1
▢Thought: 1

▢ Pluck: 1

Skills & Items:

▢ THICK SKIN (Skill)
▢ VERY STRONG (Skill)
▢ CROSSBOW (Low-Budget Item)

Character Creation Challenge 2022: #27 = “Awfully Cheerful Engine”

Our next game is “Awful Cheerful Engine”, one of the most recent tabletop roleplaying game rulebooks I have gotten.

Step #1 is finding the genre of the campaign of the fictional game.

Question #1: What is the genre of the game? “Cyberpunk”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 78. No.

Question #2: “Fantasy”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 5. Exceptional Yes. Fantasy is the genre of the fictional Game Master’s campaign.

Step #2 is to find a roll for my PC. I think I stick with the “Fantasy” business that is in the rulebook for this tabletop roleplaying game.

Question #3: What fantasy role is my PC? “Alchemist?” My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 90. No.

Question #4: “Assassin”? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 39. Yes.

Step #3 is Stats. There are four stats in this game -- and they are the following: Smarts, Moves, Style and Brawn. I have 12 Points to do so -- but I can’t have any stats higher than a 5 or lower then a 2.  I start with a 2 in Brawn. 12-2=10. I’m going to a 4 for Smarts. 10 - 4 = 6. I take a 3 for Style. 6 - 3 = 3.  And I’m left with 3 for Moves. 3 - 3 = 0.

Step #4 is a special focus for each of the stats. All of them will show up in the stats in brackets like the one I usually use in math business while doing other tabletop roleplaying games.  For my Smart one, I’m going with Cooking. For my Moves, I’m going with Thievery. For my Style, I’m going with Gambling. For my Brawn, I’m going with Climbing.

Step #4 is to do some health business. Step #4A is figuring out defense which 3 times my character’s number in it’s Moves stats.. 3 * 3 = 9 Step #4B is figuring out Health. Health is equal to the Brawn stats. 2 is my Health. Step #4C is up Defense to 8 since that’s the lowest a Defense can be -- which I don’t need since my defense is actually a 9.

Step #5 is to pick a trait for my PC. For funny business, I’m going with “Cheerful”.

Step #6 is my PC’s Special Ability. This is next to their role in the rulebook for this tabletop roleplaying game. The special ability for the Assassin is the following: “ You’re so good at killing people. You do double damage on your first attack against somebody.”

Step #7 is getting Karma. Most PCs get 6 Karma to spell on things.

Step #8 is a name. I’m going with Sarah Kyllien.....

..And we are done with Sarah Kyllien. Below this paragraph is Sarah’s full stats.....

=ACE=

Name: Sarah Kyllien

Traits: Cheerful
Role: Assassin

Stats:

▢ Smarts: 4 (Cooking)
▢ Moves: 3 (Thievery)
▢ Style: 3 (Gambling)
▢ Brawn: 2 (Climbing)

Defense: 9

Health: 2

Special Ability: You’re so good at killing people. You do double damage on your

first attack against somebody.

Character Creation Challenge 2022: #26 = “Slasher Flick”

Our next game is from Repeatville, it’s one of Spectrum Games’s horror games, “Slasher Flick”. “Slasher Flick” is all about trying to get through one of those slasher flicks like “Nightmare On Elm Street” or “Friday the 13th”.

Step #1 is deciding on Primary or Secondary character. Primary characters may get out of the movie getting killed by rip-offs of Jason Voorhes or Freddy Krueger while Secondary characters will die like moths to bug zapper. I’m going with the former then the latter for this character.

Step #2 is Stereotypes. In other games, this would be the class or job of the PC. Last year I was made an “A Soap Opera Actress.” This time, I’m going with a “Horror Film Director”

Step #3 is stats is get the Poor for each four stats in this game which are the following: Brawn, Finesse, Brains & Spirit.

Step #4 is to use the 4 Stat Boosters that I got since my character is a Primary. Secondary characters get 3 Stats. I will use all 4 to get my stats up to Normal -- since getting Good cost 2 Stats Boosters.

Step #5 is Positive Qualities. Primary Characters like the one I am working on get 4 Positive Qualities. I’m going with the following: “Handsome”, “Knows About Films”, “Ex-Safecracker”, & “Boxer”

Step #6 is Negative Quality. If I was playing this with friends at a tabletop, I would pass to the man or woman to my left -- not counting the Game Master of the session -- but since I’m doing this solo, I’m going to come up with a Negative Quality on my own -- which is the following: “Bossy”

Step #7 is to use the two Alterations to do some stuff to my PC being a Primary Character. I’m going up both Finesse and Brain to Good

Step #8 is an item. Since my character is a director, I’m going with a portable video camera

Step #9 is Name. I’m going with Stephen Queen.  If you think I’m riffing on famous horror writer, Stephen King.

Step #10 is a link to another PC. This one is going to the one I linked to the one I did last year, “Donna Winters” -- which is the following: “Is the neighbor across the street from Donna Winters.”

Step #11 is a character’s tidbit. “Likes tabletop roleplaying games.”

...And we're done with Stephen Queen. Below this paragraph is Stephen Queen’s full stats. Enjoy!

=SLASHER=

Name: Stephen Queen

Role: “Primary Character”

Stereotype: “Horror Film Director”

Stats:
▢ Brawn: Normal (“Boxer”)
▢ Finesse: Good (“Ex-Safecraker”)
▢ Brains: Good (“Knows About Films”)
▢ Spirit: Normal (Positive: “Handsome”, Negative: “Bossy”)

Item:
▢ Portable Video Camera

PC’s Link:

▢ “Is the neighbor across the street from Donna Winters.”

Tibit:
▢“Likes tabletop roleplaying games.”

Character Creation Challenge 2022: #25 = “Retro Star”

Our next game is Spectrum Games “RetroStar” -- which deals with 1970’s Science-Fiction.  Last year, my character, Merina, for this tabletop roleplaying game came from a superhero business. This time, my character is for a space opera business like “Star Wars” or “Star Trek”.

Step #1 is the PC’s Name. I’m going with Araka for the name of this PC.

Step #2 is the PC’s Background. I’m going with the following: “Araka is a Blobbian that was rescued from the Lionians by Capt. Thomas J. Zork of S.E.A. KING, the flagship of the Space Exploring Agency.”

Step #3 is Casting. This is the appearance of the actor behind the character. I only have 25 words to fill this step out. I’m going with the following: “A teenage girl somewhere between the ages of 13 and 16.”

Step #3 is Traits. There are three traits here: Adventure (combat business), Thought (brain business) & Drama (social butterfly business). I've decided on going Option C here -- giving me the following number: 1, 0 & 0. I think I’m going with Drama for her 1.

Step #4 is getting a Descriptor for that Drama business. I’m going with an “Awesome Alien Appearance” for Araka's Drama Descriptor.

Step #5 is to get the Dials. The following are the dials for the PCs. The dials are Thematic (themes to the issues and problems of the 1970s like Watergate and the Vietnam War), Plot (how loose is the plot of the series), Recurring (This is how times things repeat in the series), Cheese (fabs of the 1980s like disco, kung fu and rollerblading) & SFX (this is special effects like psychic powers and the ability to shapeshift.) For PCs, this is all filled in while playing the game.....

...And Araka is done. Below this paragraph is Araka’s full stats.

=RetroStar=

Background: Araka is a Blobbian that was rescued from the Lionians by Capt. Thomas J. Zork of S.E.A. KING, the flagship of the Space Exploring Agency.

Character Creation Challenge 2022: #24 = “Sentinel Comics: The Roleplaying Game"

The following is a character for one of the most recently released games I have. The game in question was “Sentinel Comics: The Roleplaying Game” -- and which was released in December 2020.

Step #1 is to roll up a Background for my PC. To do so I need to roll two d10s to get a number.  After some rolling, the d10s stop the following numbers: 1 & 4. I can pick the following background for my PC: Upper Class (1), Adventurer (4), or Unremarkable (1+4=5). I like Chloe Bourgeois from “Miraculous Ladybug”, so I decided to get Upper Class. Since Chloe can be a brat, I’m going with a d10 in Persuasion and a d8 in Fitness.

Step #2 is to pick up a Principle in the Responsibility section.  I’m going with Business for my PC. I got the Principle of Business as my first Green Zone ability because of my pick.

Step #4 is to roll up Power Source. To do so, I need to roll a d10 as well as two d8s. After rolling the three dices, they stop on the following numbers: 3, 7 & 8. I can pick the following Power Source: Genetic (3), Relic (7), Power  Suit (8), Tech Upgrades (3+7=10), Supernatural (3+8=11), & Genius (7+8=15). I am going to follow in many tech heroes -- and take the Power Suit. Now I need to pick some stuff for the d10 and the two d8s. I’m going to take an ability from the Mobility power category -- which is Flight at d10. Next, I’m going to Fire a d8. For the other d8, I’m going with a Signature Weapon -- taking a cue from a friend of Power Suit user and making it a hammer. For my one Green Ability, I’m going with Diagnostic Subroutine.  For my two Yellow Abilities, I’m going with Explosive Attack -- and using Fire -- and Onboard Upgrade.

Step #5 is to find by Archetype. To do that I need to roll a 10 and two d6s. After rolling the three dice, I get the following numbers: 6, 1 & 5. I can choose between the following Archetype: Speeder (1), Blaster (5), Close Quarters Combat (6), Armored (1+6=7), & Sorcerer (6+5=11). I’m going with Speeder as my PC’s Archetype. I give Speed the d10 since I need it for being the Speedster. I put one of the d6 in Agility and the second d6 into Alertness from the Mental category.  For the next, business -- add to the Ability with two Green Level Abilities.. I’m going with Always on the Move using Speed power and Fast Fingers using Agility. For my only Yellow Ability business, I’m going with the following: Supersonic Streak -- which will use the Hammer power. Next I need to close a Principle from the Expertise category. I’m going with Gearhead.

Step #6 is Personality of the PCs. To do so, I need to roll two d10s to find out. After rolling the two d10s, they give me the following numbers: 8 & 5. I can pick from the following Personalities: Sarcastic (5), Fast Talking (8), & Analytical (13). Fast Talking works the best for a Speeder. For the Quality, I’m going with Discordian -- and I put that in “Out” power for my PC. Next up is getting the two Red Zone Abilities -- I’m going with Intercession using Speed & Take Down using Hammer. Next record my Stats Dice for each level -- Green, Yellow and Red -- which are a d6, d8 and a d10 respectfully.

Step #7 is to get two more Red Abilities. I am going with Powerful Strike using Hammer & Full Defensive using Speed.

Step #8 is deciding if I’m going to any Retcon -- but I'm not doing that -- as I think my PC is fine as is.

Step #9 is getting the number I need to figure out my Health. First off, there is the given 8 from the rulebook for this RPG. The maximum value of my Red Status dice -- that would be a 10 -- since the dice there is a d10. I’m going with a d10 from Speed since that comes from the Athletic power category -- so that is another 10 for me. Then it’s a roll of a d8 -- the two 10 should help if the roll of the d8 is terrible. After some time rolling, the d8 stops at the following number: 4.

8+10=18
18+10=28
28+4=32.

Using the table on Page 113 of the rulebook, I got my Health Range for each level -- Green (32-25). Yellow (24-12), & Red (11-1).

Step #10 is the Hero’s Name. I’m going with Princess Zana.

Step #11 is Alias. I’m going with Annabelle Anderson.

Step #12 is Gender. Since Annabelle Anderson a.k.a Princess Zana is female -- that is the Gender of the PC.

Step #13 is Age. I’m going with 40 for her age.

Step #14 is Height. I’m going to the following: 7 feet even.

Step #15 are Eyes. I’m going with Green.

Step #16 is Hair. I’m going with Red hair.

Step #17 is Skin. I’m going with White

Step #18 is Built. Normal Earthling is her build.

Step #19 is Costume/Equipment. I’m going with the following: “A goldish-yellow armor that covers her entire body from head to toe carrying a large purple hammer. Outside of the armor, she usually wears a purple toga and sandals.”

Step #20 is changed to the names to snapper ones -- but I think I'm fine with the basic names from the rulebook for this RPG.

Step #21 is Background. I’m going with the following: “The Classic Greek got the name of their gods and goddess right  -- but not the stories. The Olympians did have a fight with the Titans over the Earth -- but unknown Cronus was affected by energy from an unknown source. Hades was able to bottle the source in a jar.  Zeus took the sky as he wanted to “annoy” people a lot. Poseidon took the sea -- as he wanted to “annoy” Zeus. Hades took the Earth and took Kore as his wife. Kore didn’t believe Kore would make a good Queen name -- and took the name of Persphone -- and she and Hades became the King and Queen of the Olympian Goddess -- and not long after, Persephone gave birth to Eris. Meanwhile, Prometheus creates humans and other creatures to refill the Earth from the fight that the Olympians had with the Titans.

Unknown to the Olympians, the energy in the jar was a small portion of OblivAeon -- but a human named Paris entered -- and took the jar -- and opened up -- discovered a beautiful woman named Pandora. Paris and Pandora caused a lot of mayhem all over Greece -- that it annoyed a Roman forum full of Kings and Queens -- and they attacked Troy -- leading to a war against Troy that lasted for 5 years until a group of heroes killed Pandora’s metal horse. One of the gods, Athena, forces the energy back into the jar.

Things went well for the Olympians -- and the only problem was usually the Norse Gods - a drunk Thor had picked many fights with Zeus - and usually about two to four times a month.

One day, Zeus decided to marry Hera, a Titan that had recently reappeared. Everyone was a famous person from around the world -- and most of the gods and goddesses in the world were invited to the wedding -- except one - Loki, the Norse God of Fire and Tricks -- Zeus heard horror stories about Loki -- and wanted to “be safe rather than sorry.” An angry Loki transforms himself into a dragon -- and finds Aphrodite’s Golden Apple Garden where he tricks the dragon guarding the Golden Apple Tree to give him one of the Golden Apple from it. He flies off to what would be Mount Rushmore in the future -  and when he land -- he transforms himself into a human -- and carves “To The Fairest” in the Golden Apple -- and then he appear before all of them at the wedding -- throwing the apple at Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon -- but Eris quickly kicked the apple out of the way -- causing it to land in the business in the midst of Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite.  All of the other gods and goddess realizes something stinks -- and transports -- for lack of better words -- himself or herself -- to places unknown to humans -- only Eris was behind -- as Athena put a power shield on Eris. Eris tells them to go see Princess Zana as Princess Zana recently won a weaving contest against Eris.

Athena, Artemis & Aphrodite come to Princess Zana and try to bribe her. Artemis is the ability to command animals; Athena with wisdom in both peace and war; and Aphrodite -- the most handsome man in all of Greece kingdoms. Princess Zana rejects them -- and tells them that the only fairest of them all is Thanos, the Greecian God of Death.  Not happy, the three female goddesses give her a so-called “gift” -- from Artemis -- death by an animal; from Athena -- a mouth that runs more than it should -- and from Aphrodite -- a height that not even an Amazon will like.

Princess Zana prays to Eris, her favorite Goddess - and asks Eris to undo the curses that Athena, Artemis, and Aphrodite give her. Eris couldn’t do it -- so Eris gave her immortality -- though if Princess Zana gets killed by a live animal -- she has to wait 13 years to be reborn. Well, Princess Zana decided this was good enough as it can be.....  .....And Princess Zana watches history follow its path from the fall of the Roman Empire to the 1920s -- when as Aelita Anderson, she created Persephone Publishing -- making fantasy pulp stories set in ancient Greece. In the 1930s, as Aelita Anderson, she  started Golden Apple Comics -- a comic book that becomes Sentinel Comics’ number #1 rival -- a rivalry that keeps on going to this present. In the 1960s, she gives birth to Poseidon Pictures to do animation works for television -- giving birth to both “Medusa” and “Arachne” cartoons. In the mid-1980s, Poseidon Pictures created “The Discordians”, about a group of heroes teaming up with Eris fighting against Loki and his group of fictional Frost Giants friends all over the universe. In the late 1990s, she unleashed Titan Tech, a company that makes games -- becoming famous for the “Warriors of Eris”, a computer role-playing video game. In 2018, one of her workers found the jar that contains the portion of the energy of OblivAeon  -- and Aelita saw that the energy in the jar was moving -- so she decided to build a suit to help the good people in the world and hinder the bad people in the world - but when she put in the computer system inside the suit, there was an explosion that sends her to back to the start of January 2018 -- she restart building her suit -- and once again when she put the computer system in the suit - and once again, she started her suit again -- and after the explosion happen again when he put in the computer system -- she called Eris, who appeared and toss the jar of OblivAeon energy into space. With Eris and Hephaestus, Aelita/Zana work on her suit and hammer. By the time they were done building the suit and Eris giving her super-speed to her, the heroes and villains of the universe had kicked OblivAeon’s hide for good.

Finding out that the humans heard the explosion -- Aelita split herself into two roles -- Annabelle Anderon, the usual upper class twit you usually find in movies and television shows --and Princess Zana, a fully armored hero fighting crime.”
