Hi, readers of “Flubs and Boons”. Last year in January, I created 31 characters for 31 different tabletop roleplaying games. I started 7 days behind the actual start of the Character Creation Challenge -- Jan. 1,2021. This time, I’m staring at an early portion - so I post at least one character every 31 days in January. You will see returning tabletop roleplaying games. -- as well as new tabletop roleplaying games. If you see a box that means “Mythic Game Master Emulator” was a helping hand for me. We start this year off with a new tabletop roleplaying with "Action System".
Step #1 is to find what kind of campaign my fictional Game Master is running.
Question #1: First question to Mythic. Is it a realistic campaign? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 76. No.
Question #2: Cinematic campaign? My View: 50/50. Mythic View: 57. No. It's an extreme campaign.
Step #2 is buying the Attributes with the point business. The six Attributes in this tabletop roleplaying game are the following: Strength, Reflexes, Health, Presence, Intellect, & Will. Because it is an extreme campaign, I get 50 points for buying numbers for the six Attributes. The following are the numbers for my PCs with the math business in the following parenthesis:
Strength of 8 (50 - 8 = 42)
Presence of 2 (42 - 2 =40)
Reflexes of 6 (40 - 6 = 34)
Health of 10 (34 - 10 = 24)
Will of 4 (24 - 4 = 14)
Intellect of 9 (14 - 9 = 5)
Step #3 is to find the Defensive Target Number. That is Reflexes plus 10. 10+6=16. That means my PC’s DTN is 16.
Step #4 is Initiative. That is Reflexes plus Intellect divided by 2 -- the result rounded up. My PC’s Strength is 8 while his Intellect is 9. 6+9=15. 15/2=7.5. Rounding 7.5 up, that means the Initiative of my PC is 8.
Step #5 is Toughness. That is Strength plus Will divided by 2 -- with the results around up. As I said in the last paragraph, my PC’s Strength is 8 -- but the PC’s Will is a 4. 8+4=12. 12/2=6. 6 is my PC’s Toughness.
Step #6 is Life Points. That is the following math problem: (Health*3)+(Willpower*2)=Life Points. Let’s do some math!
8*3=24.
4*2=8
24+8=32.....
...So 32 is my PC’s Life Points.
Step 8 is Move. The math problem for Move is the following: Reflexes + (Strength+Health)/2=Move. Let’s do some math
8+10=18
18+6 =24
24/2=12.
12 is my PC’s Move.
Step #9 is Traits. Traits cost one of the following: 2, 5, or 10. I can’t take a trait that is the opposite of a trait that I already have -- without the approval of the fictional Game Master. The following is what traits I got for my PC with the math business in the brackets:
Acute Sense (Convenience. 5 - 2 = 3)
Ambidextrous. (Convenience. 3 - 2 = 1)
Con-Artist (Convenience. 1-2=-1.)
Eidetic Memory (Edge. -1-5=-6.)
Fast Learner (Edge. -6-5=-11)
Good Sense of Direction (Edge. -11-5=-16)
Lucky (Gift. -16-10=-26)
Soda Pop Addiction (Hardship. -26+5=-21)
Bad Temper (Inconvenience. -21+2=-19)
Wings Distinctive Features (Peril. -19+10=-9)
Heavy Sleeper (Inconvenience. -9+2=-7)
Minor (Inconvenience. -7+2=-5.)
Short (Hardship. -5+5=0.)
Step #5 is buying Skills. First off, I get 100 Skill Points because the campaign is an extreme one. A Skill Group costs 5 points per level. Skill costs 1 Point per level. Skill (Type) also costs 1 Point per level -- while Skill (Speciality) costs 2 points per level. The following are the skills I bought for my winged teenage years with the math business in brackets:
Art & Crafts 2 (Group. 5*2=10. 100 - 10 = 90)
Cooking 4 (Specialty. 4*2=8. 90 - 8 = 82)
Photography 1 (Specialty. 1*2=2. 82-2=80)
Athletics 4 (Group. 5*4=20. 80 - 20 = 60)
Swimming 4 (Skill. 4*1=4. 60-4=56)
Unarmed Combat (Brawling) 2 (No cost. Freebie)
Communication 4 (Group 5*4=20. 56-20=36
Convert 2 (Group. 5*2=10. 36-10=26)
Education 2 (Group. 5*2=10. 26-10=16)
Enterprise 1 (Group. 1*5=5. 16 - 5 = 11)
Medical 1 (Group. 1*5=5. 11-5=6)
Performance 1 (Group. 1*5-5. 6-5=1).....
...Guess I’m done with the Skills.....
Step #6 is my PC's free 1 Action Point.
Step #7 is Name, I am going with Arak for my PC’s name.
Step #8 is Appearance, which I am going with the following: “Arak is a short male teenage humanoid with blonde hair, blue eyes, and white swan-like wings usually dressed in a white toga and sandals.”
...And Arak is done. You will find Arak’s full stats below.......
